Acts 1 The Kingdom of Heaven verses the Kingdom of evil

In the very first chapter of the book of Acts, we are reminded that there are two kingdoms at war. The Kingdom of God is introduced along with the Holy Spirit and the mission of the church. The kingdom of evil is represented by Satan and the rebellion against God. Because the battle between the two kingdoms still rages on, the followers of Christ must learn to be dependent upon the Holy Spirit's power and guidance. Because the eternal salvation of each individual is at stake, the message is urgent. Redemption from sin has been made possible through faith in Jesus Christ. Each individual must choose to receive the gift of grace from God for salvation.
